Thanks principally to fall in orders from the global buyers, Bangladesh’s home textile exports, in the first five months of the current fiscal year (FY) 2022-23, have declined.

This is as per media reports, which citing data from the country’s Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), maintained home textiles fetched US $ 518.63 million during the July-November period of FY ’23, recording a negative growth of around about 8.0 per cent.

Reports further added that after continuous growth of over 40 per cent during the last two fiscal years, home textile exports from Bangladesh dropped even as exporters held this slip-up in exports to the pile up of inventory at the buyers’ end even if they added the Russia-Ukraine war also contributed to the slowdown in the demand for home textiles.
